El Cuélebre is situated in the mountains of Asturias, in Northern Spain (see maps). Asturias is a region of Spain that is still free from the massive package tourism that crowds and stifles other parts of Spain. It is a totally genuine region in which you will be able to get to know the life and real customs of the most exciting Spain.

Inside Asturias, El Cuélebre is to be found in a very special place, a braña vaqueira called La Peral (more fotos), in the heart of Somiedo Natural Park.

La Peral’s situation is exceptional; being in the highest part of the Park it offers some impressive views.

In fact, the entire village is a spectacular viewpoint, and the Mirador del Príncipe (The Viewpoint of the Prince) (more fotos), one of the best places to admire the beauty of the Cantabrian Mountains, is situated in La Peral.
